The BDC in its Professional course will conduct a quantitative biannual assessment, to achieve control over learning and meeting the assessment objectives.
The evaluations of the practical subjects will be by demonstration in a class. The evaluations of the theoretical subjects will be by written examination, oral or delivery of work or project.
BDC students will have the opportunity to be part of the center’s productions such as galas, shows, promotions that will allow to put into practice the acquired knowledge.
Barcelona Dance Center prepares students to successfully run for national and international competitions, including the Barcelona International Ciutat Dance Competition, helping them with accurate rehearsals and choreographies.
The Barcelona Dance Center is an annex center to the King Juan Carlos University – Alicia Alonso University Dance Institute, and works preparing the dancers for their international career, with professional programs and official certification once finished studies with the possibility of getting a university degree.
Students who complete the professional classical dance course at the BDC will receive their certificate of training endorsed by the Instituto Universitario de la Danza “Alicia Alonso” Universidad del Rey Juan Carlos.
The training program includes intensive classical ballet classes, which are complemented by various subjects depending on the levels: Tips, Repertory, Choreographic Laboratory, theoretical classes, step to two, character… The young dancers will work the general technique, preparing for competitions and auditions, in addition to the option of being able to become part of BCN CITY BALLET, young non-profit company, completing its training with stage practice.
From September 2019, the new contemporary dance department will be open for dancers who want to dedicate themselves to this specialty. The path to the expressive essence of ideas, feelings, emotions, through body movement, seeks the connection with the earthly, with the human, the non-structure, transgression, etc.
